Visioning Event: Houston Haitian Community Define Health

In the second MAPP phase, “Visioning”, the community and the committee work together to develop an overall, shared vision of health in the community. An in-person visioning event will be implemented, February 22 & March 1, where community members are invited to envision and describe an aspirational future for a healthy community, which will guide the rest of the health assessment process.
After the visioning session, shared vision and common values statements will be compiled for approval from the visioning group participants. Alternatively, to capture the young Haitian adults in the county, we will host a virtual visioning event using social media, where common themes can also be gathered. To reflect the community's vision, these statements will be adopted and kept alive through the remainder of the MAPP process via materials, such as brochures, leaflets, and reports.
